    Job description

    High Point University invites applications for multiple adjunct positions available in the Department of Mathematical Sciences in the Webb School of Engineering.
    Responsibilities:
    Teach undergraduate courses in mathematics, statistics, and data analytics for both majors and non-majors, as assigned.
    Other responsibilities include helping students in assigned courses, using Starfish, and providing student accommodations when necessary, and familiarity with Blackboard.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum qualifications:

    • MS in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, data analytics, actuarial science, or a closely related field by August 2024.
    • Successful applicants will (i) demonstrate an ability to teach mathematics or statistics courses, both for majors and non-majors, (ii) present evidence of teaching excellence at the high school or undergraduate level.
    • The successful applicants will also present evidence of being able to engage students in the classroom.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience using Blackboard or similar teaching platforms such as Canvas.
    • Experience using MyMathLab, StatLab, or other appropriate software such as R.
    • The Department is especially interested in applicants who bring various perspectives to the University, and in those who may be especially effective in mentoring students who are members of groups that have been historically under-represented in the discipline.
