    Stanley Consultants is currently looking for a Structural Section Manager.
     
    Job Summary:

    This is more than a technical leadership position; it's an opportunity to build and develop a high-performing team within an employee-owned firm that genuinely puts people first. The ideal candidate is energized by mentoring engineers, creating growth opportunities, and fostering a culture where employees can do their best work while helping deliver impactful infrastructure projects throughout the energy industry. This position supports business development and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects such as: Data Center and AC/DC Conversion Stations, among others.

    This position is responsible for the supervision of the Structural Section reporting to the Structural Department Manager. Provides both technical and administrative supervision to the section to ensure the technical, administrative, direct labor and schedule targets of the section are met in accordance with applicable professional standards, design control procedures, company procedures and technical design guides. 

    What You Will Be Doing:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of structural engineering professionals, fostering a culture built on collaboration.
    • Support the growth and development of team members through coaching, career planning, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
    • Align project assignments and workloads to support both business needs and individual career growth objectives.
    • Assigns and coordinates project priorities, workload planning, staffing schedules and assignments.
    • Projects also include: Substations and Switchyards across the US 12.5kV to 500kV and Distribution/Transmission Lines across the US up to 500kV.
    • Work on Steel and Foundation designs for industrial projects.     
    • Opportunity to represent at leading industry conferences
    • Oversees quality control for work produced by the section and ensures staff follow established standards, procedures, and policies.
    • Supports the Department Manager in monitoring the financial key performance indicators for the section including utilization and project performance.
    • Cross collaboration with project managers and senior section members to support business development and marketing activities.
    • Ensures that project assignments for the section are completed on schedule and within budget parameters.
    • Contributes to project work involving the design of substation steel structures and foundations for substations and transmission lines.
    • Determines client requirements and develop reports, specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.
    • Performs other functions delegated by the Department Manager.
    Required Qualifications:

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.

    Experience

    • 10+ years of structural engineering experience.
    • 3+ years of engineering leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.
    • Proven experience supporting utility, transmission, substation, or power generation projects.

    Technical Skills

    • Structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
    • Foundation design for electrical equipment and transmission structures.
    • Familiarity with:
      • ASCE 7
      • AISC
      • ACI
      • IBC
      • IEEE standards
      • Utility design standards
    • Experience with tools such as:
      • STAAD.Pro, RISA and SAP2000
      • MathCAD, AUTOCAD and REVIT
      • AutoCAD

    Licenses

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
    • Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
    $122,300 - $160,850 a year
    (Salary range for CO location)
