Job description

Somnia Anesthesia is seeking an Anesthesiologist to join their team in Long Beach, CA, offering a full-spectrum anesthesia practice in a beautiful coastal location. This role provides competitive pay and benefits, with new graduates welcomed to apply. The position offers exposure to a wide variety of cases within a Level II trauma center.

Practice Info

  • Practice environment includes 10 ORs + 2 OBs, with 427 beds.
  • The facility is a Level II trauma center with 6 ORs plus 1 OB Trauma.
  • Average 7,388 cases + 1,055 births annually, covering general, ortho, urology, hearts, heads, trauma, neuro, peds, and OB (100 deliveries a month).
  • St. Mary Medical Center (SMMC) is part of the Dignity Health System, serving Southern California.
  • SMMC is designated as Baby Friendly and received a Critical Care Excellence AwardTM (2021 and 2022) by Healthgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct anesthesia services to Center patients, working 100% clinically.
  • Manage incidents or complications.
  • Communicate with the onsite Medical Director on questions regarding safety and policy and procedure protocols.
  • Assist and collaborate with peers efficiently and effectively to ensure smooth patient care and safety.

Compensation

  • Annual base compensation $577,500
  • $20,000 sign-on
  • Additional earnings for call
  • Relocation assistance/allowance available up to $10,000 for out-of-state or out-of-area candidates (receipts required)

Shift & Schedule

  • Starts 7 am to 5 pm and/or 7 am to 7 pm
  • Typical day when not on call runs 7 am to 5 pm
  • Call 1x or 2x a week/post call off
  • Backup call - response call within 30 minutes
