STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for Fabrication Mechanic - Polish Operator - 2nd shift to join the team. This position is responsible for cleaning, deburring, polishing, grit blasting, and/or grinding manufactured parts. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 3:15PM - 1:45AM / $1.00 Shift Differential
Job Description
  • Inspects parts for defects and material handling damage
  • Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth
  • Mounts tools on revolving spindle for abrasive finishing and deburring.
  • Able to change out tooling such as rubberized abrasives and bench grinder abrasive wheels as needed
  • Holds part against deburring / grinding wheel to deburr tube surfaces or grind weld beads Deburrs or polishes parts
  • Operates Dremel with Scotchbrite or abrasive wheel to polish parts
  • Uses Flex-hone (Wire-brush) when indicated on operational instructions
  • Operates hand held Die-Grinder
  • Uses Compressed Air to ensure interior and exterior of parts are blown off after polishing
  • Operate Grit Blast Cabinet
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Employee must pass the respirator medical evaluation and respirator fit test prior to performing any duties and on an annual basis thereafter.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear a respirator on average 8 hours a day.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
