    Role: Cable Installation/ Splicing Project Manager
    Position Type: Direct Hire (40hrs/week)
    Contract Duration: Long Term
    Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
    Location: 100% Onsite - Columbus, Ohio
    Overview
    We are seeking experienced Project Managers to support large-scale cable installation and fiber splicing initiatives across multiple markets. The successful candidate will manage project execution from design and contract initiation through construction, testing, customer acceptance, and project closeout.
    This role requires strong expertise in telecom construction, outside plant (OSP) operations, fiber splicing, customer communication, and project financial management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader who can coordinate multiple crews, schedules, vendors, materials, and stakeholders while maintaining exceptional customer service and project performance.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Send out weekly or bi-weekly customer updates for specific markets, providing detailed status for all cabling and splicing projects.
    • Review all cabling / splicing RFP's and confirm pricing addendum quantities before distribution to local teams.
    • Facilitate internal weekly calls and coordinate with local Project Managers / Division Managers on all active projects.
    • Review permit drawings, suggest necessary changes, and collaborate with the engineering team to finalize construction drawings and initiate permit close-outs.
    • Develop optimized fiber network designs focusing on infrastructure scalability within assigned regions.
    • Generate comprehensive Engineering Design Packages (EDP's), including network schematics and fiber routing maps.
    • Handle Service Order and contract creation for all cabling / splicing projects.
    • Serve as Contract Manager from execution through to final payment.
    • Verify internal invoices for accuracy against previous records and coordinate processing with the Office Manager.
    • Ensure all deliverables, including test results, redlines, and GIS data, meet customer specifications.
    • Manage emergency response correspondence, including ticket submission and investigation relay to local teams.
    • Maintain and update project trackers within the vendor portal.
    • Submit Ready for Service (RFS) notifications and maintain the RFS log.
    • Ensure timely submission of Access and Material Requests.
    • Lead preconstruction meetings to identify risks and set clear expectations for local construction teams.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    Required Qualifications
    Technical Knowledge
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the cable installation and splicing industry.
    • Strong understanding of outside plant (OSP) underground construction, fiber optic splicing, testing, and industry standards.
    • Ability to identify potential issues before they become costly delays.
    • Familiarity with GIS, As-Builts, and fiber network design.
    • Experience with project management software (Smartsheets and Vitruvi).

    Planning and Organizational Skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, schedules, budgets, and material deliveries simultaneously.
    • Keeps work progressing by anticipating dependencies and adjusting plans as conditions change.
    • Skilled at tracking milestones, managing documentation, and producing project reports.

    Leadership and Communication
    • Builds trust with field crews, subcontractors, and customers.
    • Clearly communicates expectations, resolves conflicts, and keeps stakeholders informed.
    • Ability to learn and adapt to changing conditions.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Hyperscale data center infrastructure project experience.
    • Experience with Smartsheet.
    • Experience using Vitruvi.
    • Familiarity with GIS systems and As-Built documentation.
    • Fiber network design experience.
    • Experience supporting large-scale fiber deployment initiatives.


    Work Environment / Additional Information
    • Preferred Locations:

      • Hermiston, Orego
    • Candidates located within approximately one hour of the assigned project area are strongly preferred.
    • Regional travel may be required based on project needs.
    • Work will involve collaboration with field operations, construction teams, engineering groups, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders.
