Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organized Recruiter / HR Coordinator to support hiring and onboarding efforts for a short-term assignment in the Simon & Schuster distribution center in Jackson, TN. This role will assist with full-cycle recruiting, job fair coordination, candidate screening, onboarding activities, and HR administrative support. The ideal candidate will have experience using Dayforce or a similar Human Resources Information System (HRIS) platform and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruiting activities including posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Coordinate and attend job fairs, hiring events, and community recruiting initiatives
- Conduct candidate phone screens and assist hiring managers throughout the interview process
- Support onboarding activities including background checks, new hire paperwork, orientation scheduling, and employee file management
- Utilize Dayforce or similar HRIS/payroll systems to maintain employee and applicant records
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations
- Maintain accurate recruiting metrics and hiring documentation
- Communicate professionally with candidates, hiring managers, and employees throughout the hiring process
- Assist with additional HR administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recruiting, HR coordination, or talent acquisition experience
- Experience with Dayforce preferred; experience with similar HRIS platforms such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Paycom, or SAP SuccessFactors considered
- Experience coordinating or participating in job fairs and hiring events
- Strong onboarding and new hire orientation experience
- Experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is highly preferred
- Experience hiring hourly employees is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
