    Job description

    Key Responsibilities:
    Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Fitter/Welder will be responsible for, but not limited to:
    • Read and follow detailed written instructions and fabrication drawings.
    • Perform accurate measurements and calculations using feet, inches, and fractions.
    • Successfully pass a 1-inch thick 2-G welder qualification.
    • Pass a tack welder qualification (visual macro break test).
    • Operate carbon air-arc equipment for back gouging processes.
    • Ensure safe work practices are adhered to, and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
    • Mentor apprentices and junior fitter/welders by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.

    Position Requirements:
    • Minimum 3 years of fitting/welding structural steel experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
    • Ability to read a tape measure.
    • Ability to operate overhead cranes.
    • Current or past AWS certification for FCAW, MCAW.
    • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
    • A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within

    a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.
    • Organization skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
    • Communication skills-both written and oral.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
