Job description

Job Title: Pumping Unit Technician
Location: Watford City, ND
Job Type: Full-time
Department: Field Operations / Maintenance
Reports To: Field Supervisor / Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Pumping Unit Technician to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of pumping units and related equipment to ensure efficient and reliable oilfield production.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, align, and maintain beam pumping units, gearboxes, and prime movers
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely and safe manner
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with company safety standards and industry regulations
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and production staff
  • Respond to emergency callouts and troubleshoot equipment failures in the field

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required, technical training or certification a plus
  • Minimum 1 years of experience working with pumping units or similar mechanical systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with oilfield safety procedures and protocols
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and manuals
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with various types of pumping units (e.g., Lufkin, Weatherford, Rotaflex)
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems and hydraulic components
  • Welding and fabrication experience
