Job description

Our client, a well-established law firm in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced Corporate & Securities Attorney to join its business law practice. This opportunity is well suited for a senior associate, counsel, or junior partner looking to handle sophisticated transactional work with meaningful client exposure and long-term practice growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and complex strategic transactions
  • Represent private equity sponsors, venture capital firms, and emerging growth companies
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate private placements and venture financings
  • Serve as outside general corporate counsel to middle-market and growth-stage companies
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents, governance agreements, and ancillary deal materials
  • Manage transactions efficiently and support business development efforts
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active Illinois Bar admission
  • 7+ years of corporate transactional experience
  • Strong background in M&A, private equity, venture capital, and general corporate matters
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
