Job description

Description
  • Preparing designing specifying, analyses and recommending for presentation and approval
  • Has technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processes
  • Investigating solution to product and/or process problems
  • Consolidating results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects
  • Coordinating the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technical, and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects
  • Conducting independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications and requirements
  • May provide recommendations and assign work to technical drawing staff

Requirements
  • This job requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and five or more years of
    work related experience.
  • Performing work in this job's occupational field requires the application of complex, technical
    professional disciplines requiring a four-year degree or equivalent and the extensive, applied
    use of related concepts, practices and methods.
  • In relation to other jobs in the same function, this job requires a senior level of proficiency to
    apply significant job-related experience. This job may assist others as a lead practitioner.
  • The primary or most necessary skills required for this job are analytical skills. Other
    important skills include communication skills, computer skills, leadership and problem
    solving skills.
