Shift: This is an on-site position. 2nd shift: Wednesday to Saturday from 2pm - 12:30am
The Mission Control Operator monitors, analyzes, and supports automated material handling systems within warehouse and distribution center environments. Using advanced diagnostic tools, this role performs troubleshooting, documents system performance and faults, identifies opportunities for optimization, and collaborates with customers and cross-functional teams to maximize system uptime, throughput, and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Monitor Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Material Flow Systems (MFS), and automated equipment to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues while maintaining maximum system availability.
- Analyze system performance, equipment faults, and operational data to identify root causes, improve throughput, reduce cycle times, and recommend performance enhancements.
- Serve as the first point of response for system issues by documenting incidents, managing support tickets, escalating mechanical, electrical, software, and controls issues to the appropriate teams, and coordinating resolution efforts.
- Create and maintain operational reports, fault documentation, user guides, and training materials while supporting the training of internal teams and customers to improve system knowledge and reduce recurring issues.
- Collaborate with Software Support Engineers, global support teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to communicate system status, resolve high-impact issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in a rotating 24/7 support schedule to monitor automated systems, respond to production-impacting events, and ensure consistent operational performance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize work, and make sound decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
