This role helps prevent nonconforming materials from entering the manufacturing process and supports compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming inspections of electronic components and materials including PCBs, PCBAs, connectors, cables, and mechanical parts.
  • Verify materials meet engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and inspection plans.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using approved tools and inspection methods.
  • Conduct sampling inspections according to defined inspection plans (AQL or ANSI/ASQ Z1.4).
  • Inspect PCBAs for workmanship in accordance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600).
  • Verify component identification, polarity, orientation, and solder quality.
  • Review supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), test reports, and material certifications.
  • Identify and document nonconforming materials and support nonconformance reporting (NCR).
  • Record inspection results and maintain quality records in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling of ESD-sensitive devices and follow ESD control procedures.
  • Support quality investigations and communicate issues to Quality Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier quality and incoming inspection processes.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2โ€“5 years of experience in incoming inspection or quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience inspecting electronic components, PCBAs, or assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inspection reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certificate, Associateโ€™s degree, or electronics-related training.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-600.
  • Knowledge of ESD control requirements (ANSI/ESD S20.20).
  • Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes, or digital multimeters.
Key Competencies
  • Attention to detail and inspection accuracy.
  • Ability to follow inspection procedures and quality standards.
  • Strong observation and problem-identification skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The position may require standing or sitting for extended periods and performing inspections using microscopes or inspection equipment.
