Job description

The Commercial Development and Sales Executive at SAIM is a quota-carrying B2B SaaS sales professional responsible for developing and closing new business opportunities. This role manages the full commercial sales cycle, including prospecting, consultative discovery, software demonstrations, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.

The successful candidate will be a polished, strategic sales professional capable of building relationships with corporate stakeholders while translating SAIM's technology into meaningful business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve new-business and revenue objectives.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new customer opportunities through outbound prospecting, marketing leads, industry events, and strategic relationships.
  • Conduct consultative discovery to understand customer operations, challenges, objectives, and desired outcomes.
  • Deliver tailored software demonstrations, presentations, proposals, and business cases.
  • Manage opportunities through the complete sales cycle, including negotiation and contract execution.
  • Develop and maintain sufficient pipeline to consistently achieve assigned sales quotas.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers and identify expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts, and sales reporting.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Deployment, and Client Support throughout the sales process.
  • Represent SAIM professionally at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in consultative B2B software, SaaS, technology sales, or related commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated success selling to mid-market or enterprise customers.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and revenue targets.
  • Experience independently managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution.
  • Strong experience with pipeline development, CRM management, forecasting, proposals, presentations, and commercial negotiations.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Technology, or a related field.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Professional executive presence and ability to engage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong consultative selling and discovery skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technology capabilities into clear operational and business value.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and pipeline-management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience selling SaaS or technology solutions into aviation, energy, midstream, fleet, utilities, industrial, or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Familiarity with EAM, CMMS, industrial IoT, digital twins, fleet management, or operational technology solutions.
