Saalex Corporation is seeking multiple Field Service Engineer I in Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA. Saalex Corp., is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services. Position Type:Â Contingent on Contract Award.
Salary:Â $65k-$115k (depending on experience)
The Field Service Engineer I supports the Navy by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT, network, and hardware systems at fielded locations. This role focuses on hands-on technical support, system integration, and sustainment of mission-critical infrastructure across CONUS and OCONUS environments.Â
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, network equipment, and peripheral systems at field sites.Â
- Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of systems including servers, workstations, and network devices.Â
- Support system integration, upgrades, and deployment activities in accordance with engineering and program requirements.Â
- Execute preventive maintenance and system health checks to ensure operational readiness.Â
- Document field activities, configurations, and issue resolution in accordance with program standards.Â
- Collaborate with engineering, network, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues.Â
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including STIGs and system hardening requirements during installations.Â
- Support logistics coordination for equipment, spares, and replacement parts.
Requirements
Required:
- 1-3 years of experience in field service engineering, IT support, or related technical field.Â
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).Â
- Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IT or network systems.Â
- Familiarity with hardware components, cabling, and basic network configurations.Â
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).Â
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance.
- Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.Â
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments.Â
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently on-site.Â
Desired:
- Experience supporting DoD or Navy fielded systems and remote sites.Â
- Familiarity with ruggedized systems, tactical communications, or deployed environments.Â
- Experience with imaging, system deployment tools, or configuration scripts.Â
- Active Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance preferred.Â
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).Â
Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Active clearances preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
