    Job description

You get to create, execute, and keep the work moving.
Roadrunner is the most tech-forward company in LTL. We built a proprietary Smart Network that delivers fewer touches, faster transit, real-time visibility, and real accountability. The service is differentiated. The point of view is clear. Marketing has not yet fully translated that advantage into how the brand shows up every day-on the website, in social, in video, in events, and in the materials our teams use.
That's the opportunity. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be the creative force and operational backbone of the marketing team. You will design, film, write, organize, and ship. You will bring campaigns to life through compelling visual content, tight planning, and cross-platform execution. You will keep initiatives on-brand, on deadline, and running smoothly in a lean, PE-backed environment that rewards ownership and speed. What you'll do1. Content Creation & Brand Presence

This is a creation role, not a maintenance role. You make the brand visible.

    • Design and produce marketing materials using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) for digital and print campaigns.
    • Invent and ship high-impact visual content that advances Roadrunner as the Category of One-graphics, sales collateral, social assets, landing-page visuals, event materials, and campaign creative.
    • Create video and photo content. Appear on camera when needed and direct shoots that capture authentic customer stories, owner-operator voices, and company culture.
    • Support Roadrunner's LinkedIn and social presence with content that is sharp, human, and on-brand-not generic freight marketing.
    • Shape how the brand shows up across digital, physical, and experiential touchpoints so every interaction reinforces that Roadrunner is leading the way.
    2. Campaign Execution & Coordination

The Marketing Manager owns the strategy. You make the machine run.

    • Coordinate with vendors, internal stakeholders, sales, talent acquisition, and the marketing team to execute multi-channel campaigns on time.
    • Support integrated campaigns across digital, social, email, content, events, and emerging channels that drive awareness, pipeline, and talent outcomes.
    • Treat every campaign as an experiment. Track what shipped, what worked, and what needs to change. Document what you learn.
    • Produce materials and communications for strategic customer accounts based on direction from leadership and the Marketing Manager.
    3. Website, Social & Digital Presence

Keep the public face of the brand fresh, usable, and current.

    • Manage and update the website CMS so content is accurate, optimized, and user-friendly.
    • Support social media content creation and campaign execution across platforms-planning, producing, scheduling, and reporting.
    • Help build and maintain landing pages and digital experiences that match Roadrunner's voice and convert attention into action.
    • Use AI tools to accelerate production without sacrificing quality, voice, or point of view.
    4. Calendar, Systems & Operational Support

You are the detail-oriented backbone. Nothing falls through the cracks.

    • Own the marketing calendar and project-management systems. Keep deadlines visible. Keep work moving.
    • Help maintain reusable content resources, brand guidelines, and AI prompt frameworks so internal teams can produce on-brand materials without bottlenecks.
    • Apply AI and automation to recurring production and administrative work-reducing manual effort and shortening turnaround time.
    • Track marketing expenses and assist with budget reconciliation.
    • Identify friction in how marketing work gets done, then fix it with process, templates, and tools that stick.
    5. Talent, Owner-Operator & Culture Content

Attract the right people. Help them stay. Make the culture visible.

    • Produce recruitment marketing creative that attracts high-quality CDL drivers, owner operators, and key employees.
    • Create targeted assets and content for owner-operator acquisition and retention campaigns.
    • Partner with talent acquisition and operations to support employee recruiting with clear, compelling materials.
    • Capture and produce culture content-photos, video, recognition assets, newsletter visuals-that reinforces We Run Safe. We Run Smart. We Run Together.
    • Support internal communications with polished, on-brand assets so employees and owner operators feel informed and seen.
    What you bring
    • Proven experience in a marketing or related creative role, with a portfolio that shows you can make work, not only talk about it.
    • Significant creative skill in Canva and comfort in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
    • Confidence both in front of and behind the camera for video and photography.
    • CMS experience and proven website management skills.
    • Event marketing experience, especially direct customer engagement and activation.
    • Experience creating content for social platforms and running work across multiple channels at once.
    • Detail-oriented process and project-management muscle. You keep calendars, files, vendors, and deadlines tight.
    • Strong writing and visual storytelling. You can make industrial and technology stories feel sharp and human.
    • Comfort using AI tools to create, iterate, and scale content without losing quality or brand voice.
    • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment where you wear multiple hats and invent process as needed.
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
    • Great to have: HubSpot or similar marketing automation, Google Analytics, and experience in transportation, logistics, freight, industrial, or other complex B2B categories.
    How you operate
    • You own outcomes, not just tasks.
    • You move with urgency while keeping structure and clarity.
    • You balance creative risk with attention to detail and rigor.
    • You communicate with purpose.
    • You identify gaps and solve them.
    • You prioritize ruthlessly by business impact.
    • You are equally comfortable designing, filming, organizing, and following up.
    Why This Role Is Different

Most marketing coordinator roles at established logistics companies are about maintaining the brand and executing a finished playbook. This one is about building the next chapter in public-how Roadrunner looks, sounds, and shows up for customers, owner operators, drivers, and employees.

You will work directly with the Marketing Manager and have a clear line to the work that reaches the market. The company is PE-backed and moving with urgency. Decisions happen. Ownership is rewarded. High performers get more scope.

If you want a fully staffed department where every process is already defined and you only touch one channel, this is not the role. If you want to create the work, keep the system moving, and leave a visible mark on how Roadrunner shows up, it is.

    Compensation & Setup
    • Base Pay: $48,000 to $68,000 per year.
    • Location: Onsite - Downers Grove, IL.
    • Reports to: Marketing Manager.
    • Benefits: Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
    Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Physical Demands
    • Moderate physical activity, performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
    • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and talk and hear others in conversations via the phone or in person. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance and lift objects up to 25 lbs.
    Work Environment
    • The noise level is moderate based on general conversation tones, ringing phones and laser printer operation.
    • Work in a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.

    * The above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the position and are not intended to be all inclusive. The position and any of the requirements listed above are subject to change at any time according to the changing needs of the company.

    * Roadrunner is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.

    * We will not accept unsolicited candidates from external recruiters or recruiting agencies. Thank you!

    About Roadrunner

Roadrunner is for ambitious, smart people who excel at execution over talking about it, and who would rather invent the next standard in freight than accept the status quo.

We are looking for the Best of the Best. Action driven leaders who want to be part of real change and help design the future of LTL in the U.S. This is a place where high performers can grow, influence outcomes, and make an impact while working directly with executives and smart people from across industries.

We bring a winner mindset. We take ownership, raise the bar, and measure ourselves by results. We Run Safe. We Run Smart. We Run Together. These principles create an environment of high standards, clear ownership, and direct collaboration. We trust data over intuition, move with urgency, and hold each other accountable because winning requires it.

Roadrunner exists to prove that LTL can be better than the industry has settled for. To be the best means we need to think bigger, look outside the box, and question every assumption: too many handoffs, limited visibility, and the quiet belief that "this is just how it works." We rejected that story. We built a proprietary Smart Network for direct, long haul, metro to metro service that delivers fewer touches, faster transit, real time visibility, and genuine accountability. We are the most tech forward company in LTL, and we are not finished widening the gap.

The foundation is already strong. Recognized as one of Built In Chicago's Best Large Places to Work. Earning top marks for improvement, quality, and service. The real opportunity is still ahead: helping invent what comes next.

If you want to be evaluated among the Best of the Best and help set the new standard in LTL, we should talk.
