Check out our strong financial track record here.RLI's Accounting department is currently hiring for a year-round internship starting Fall 2026. This intern will assist with various accounting duties and projects in the Reinsurance Accounting area. This internship is available in our Peoria, IL home office. Work hours during the school year (12-15 hours per week) are flexible based on your school schedule. Work hours during the summer are full time (8:30-5:00, Monday-Friday).Position PurposeUnder frequent supervision, gain a broad understanding of the RLI business through a real-world experience and on-the-job training.Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze data for various reporting for both internal and external customers.
• Perform various balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform various systems reconciliations.
• Journalize various transactions & review impact on financial statements.
• Maintain and update various transactions & entries in reinsurance accounting system
• Assist with other project/duties as needed.

Education & Experience

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Accounting
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

• Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and problem solver
• Experience in Excel, solid grammar, and writing skills
• Demonstrated success in a classroom setting, and a desire to learn
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with others while working as part of a team

Internship Pay RatesWhen participating in an internship at RLI, salary is determined by the group that is being supported as well as relevant educational factors.

• General Internship: $20/hour
• IT & Underwriting: $22/hour
• Legal: $25/hour
• Actuarial: $22-$28/hour*

*Dependent on number of completed actuarial exams.
