Job description

PT - Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Support Services/ Harford County
Rate of Pay $22/hr*
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
We are seeking a Part Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.
Support a woman in the Darlington area with developing independence in her home and community. Assist with being active and exercising while getting out and participating in activities in my community that I enjoy. This might include going out to eat, shopping, taking a class, going for walks, crafts, and other recreation and leisure activities. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life.
This position is:
Sunday 11a-4p
Tuesday 11a-4p
Thursday 11a-4p
15 hours/ week
The schedule is subject to flexibility due to the needs of the individuals supported.
Job duties:
  • DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by:
  • Assisting with participation and exploration of the community
  • Cultivating and expanding independent living skills
  • Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships
  • Implementing strategies to achieve individuals' personal goals.
  • Complete required documentation (e.g., incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, fire drills etc.)
  • Administer and record medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements, when applicable \
  • Complete all agency required trainings to remain in compliance of polices and regulations

Qualifications:
  • Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED
  • Must have a current driver's license with less than three points on the driving record.
  • Must be at least 20 years old
  • Must have at least 2 years of driving experience
  • Must be able to transport people supported as needed
  • Must have personal vehicle to transport participants

* Regular Base rate is $22/hr. There is an additional $1/hr. shift differential for weekend shifts. ($22 +$1=$23/hr.)
