Job description

SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly experienced and data-driven Aggregate Continuous Improvement Manager to spearhead continuous improvement initiatives across our multi-plant aggregates portfolio. This role is central to driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, and improving the reliability of our aggregate processing facilities through the application of engineering analysis, process improvement methodologies, and strong leadership.

*You will have the opportunity to reside near regional offices in Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, or New Jersey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives across multiple aggregate plants to optimize throughput, efficiency, and equipment reliability.

  • Develop, refine, and utilize AggFlow models in collaboration with plant management to evaluate and enhance plant flow, equipment performance, and overall productivity.

  • Identify and analyze operational performance gaps through rigorous data analysis, implementing measurable and sustainable solutions.

  • Partner with site managers to assess mobile fleet utilization, proper sizing, and performance optimization.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for evaluating new plant layouts, recommending equipment upgrades, and structural modifications to boost productivity.

Data Analysis & Strategic Implementation

  • Analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to pinpoint operational inefficiencies and quantify financial opportunities. Serve as the primary driver for optimizing and enhancing the KPI tracking platform.

  • Accurately quantify potential improvement opportunities and monitor the Return on Investment (ROI) for all implemented initiatives.

  • Interpret plant performance trends and translate these insights into concrete, actionable operational strategies.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure engineering and operational solutions are aligned with overarching business objectives.

  • Plan, schedule, and manage improvement projects, coordinating effectively with all necessary internal teams, external vendors, and contractors.

Leadership & Culture

  • Champion and cultivate a strong culture of continuous improvement throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to plant managers and operational teams on established problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).

  • Engage all relevant stakeholders to secure alignment on improvement priorities, execution plans, and results.

  • Actively promote a behavior-based safety culture and uphold environmental stewardship in the planning and execution of all improvement projects.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mining), Operations Management, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in aggregate operations, plant optimization, or continuous improvement leadership.

  • Prior experience in plant management or area/regional operational leadership is highly desirable.

Technical and Analytical Skills

  • Extensive, in-depth knowledge of all aggregate processing equipment (crushing, screening, conveying, fines recovery, quality control, etc.), plant flow dynamics, and industry best practices.

  • Proven ability to understand operational processes, influence stakeholders, and successfully drive process improvement across aggregate operations.

  • Robust understanding of aggregate plant and regional financial metrics, with the ability to clearly translate operational improvements into measurable bottom-line value.

  • Proficiency in AggFlow and detailed knowledge of aggregate processing systems.

  • Experience with technical tools such as AutoCAD (for plant layouts) and GIS tools.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with a demonstrated track record of quantifying and delivering measurable operational improvements.

  • Skilled at interpreting complex operational data, KPIs, and financial metrics to inform decision-making.

  • Financial acumen, including the ability to identify, calculate, and justify cost-saving opportunities.

Communication and Work Style

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and polished presentation abilities.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Comfortable working in both field and office environments, with the flexibility to travel up to 60-75%.
