Job Description
The selected candidate will provide daily on-site technical procurement support for a government agency in support of the cable infrastructure, wideband systems, and network infrastructure for a robust government network.
Specifically, the selected candidate will work closely with military personnel for the operations and maintenance (O&M), install, testing and training of communication systems. Will identify and collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to introduce new and innovative technologies and processes to improve margins and service delivery. Monitor and evaluate markets trends, intervene to manage/mitigate the impact of supply shortfalls or price adjustments. Ensure appropriate cost or price analysis is performed to determine the reasonableness of the suppliers bid. Experience with purchasing multiple commodities and tasks involved in a fast-paced no fail work environment required in the support of telecommunications systems. Will also provide end-to-end support equipment and services, including instrument placement, infrastructure and other required services to provide telecommunications related connectivity within and external to the customer.
The selected candidate will be expected to work extended hours when necessary and will be expected to be self-reliant and fully capable of performing the required duties with little to no direct supervision or support.
This position is located in Washington DC. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Washington DC or surrounding areas.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain or in a related field of study and at least 6 years of related experience OR Associate degree and at least 8 years experience of related experience OR High School diploma and at least 10 years of related experience or equivalent education/certifications/experience
Direct experience with telecommunications procurements for integration design, installation and support
Current SSBI/T5R adjudicated within the past three years (must be able to pass additional access screenings)
Supply/logistics certification such as:
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
Certified Logistics Associates (CLA)
Certified Logistics Technician (CLT)
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of inventory, supply chain and budgeting management
Working knowledge of developing RFQ/RFP, contracts, preparing financial analysis, negotiations, and PO documentation
Technical capability in order to communicate effectively with design / component engineering on quality improvement topics and cost reduction / design change opportunities both internally and within the supply base
Helpdesk experience ability to resolve trouble tickets between various technical work centers
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to grow supplier relationships in order to support our business needs
Experience with customer trouble ticketing systems (JIRA)
Strong problem solving techniques for complex troubles with telecommunication instruments, equipment, circuits, channels, and trunk troubles where limited standardization exists
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledge of ITAR restrictions, and FAR/DFAR requirements
Previous work experience in the defense industry
Supplier audit experience
APICS certification or Certified Supply Chain Certification (CSCP)
APQP knowledge
Ability to be self-reliant
Ability to professionally interact with high level military officers and civilian officials on a daily basis
Quality assurance experience with both new and upgraded telecommunications systems
Trainer / training experience
Positive service oriented attitude
Military experience / knowledge of customs and courtesies
Experience with larger enterprise IP networks and related networking equipment
Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures with regard to the installation, configuration, and management of Cisco IP Systems
Experience with the development and presentation of briefings
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $99410 - $168997

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
