Job Title: People Solutions / HR Analyst - Severance Contractor
Job Description
The People Solutions Analyst (Severance Contractor) is responsible for managing end-to-end severance operations and ensuring a seamless, consistent, and compliant employee experience. In this role, you partner closely with stakeholders across the Severance Operations team, People Business Partners, payroll, finance, and other internal functions to administer severance cases, prepare and review documentation, and support employees and leaders through the separation process. You use HR systems and tools such as Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Excel, and DocuSign to process requests accurately, maintain records, and uphold a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and track severance cases from initiation through completion, ensuring compliance with country-specific regulations and internal company policies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on severance program processes, policies, and procedures, providing clear guidance and support.
  • Partner with internal teams, including People Business Partners, payroll, finance, and other HR functions, to ensure accurate documentation and timely resolution of severance cases.
  • Support the preparation, review, and coordination of documentation for employee separations, collaborating with relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of severance cases, ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
  • Submit severance-related payment requests to payroll and finance teams, frequently using Microsoft Excel to compile and transmit required data.
  • Enter severance requests from People Business Partners into Workday, following established processes and guidelines (training provided).
  • Manage incoming severance-related requests and inquiries received via email and ServiceNow, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Monitor and respond to questions in a shared Outlook inbox from People Business Partners and other stakeholders, providing clear and consistent information.
  • Administer severance-related documents and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring they are current, accurate, and properly distributed.
  • Utilize DocuSign to prepare, send, and manage severance agreements and related documentation for electronic signature.
  • Participate in a peer review ("maker/checker") process by reviewing colleagues' work and having your own work checked to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organization when handling multiple severance cases and tasks simultaneously.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of severance processes and employee experience by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance quality.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders, People Business Partners, and employees, acting as a reliable and professional HR partner.

Essential Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HR with a focus on severance operations or closely related HR operations work.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and regulatory considerations related to severance.
  • Strong HR operations experience, including exposure to severance processes, calculations, and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when processing data and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain processes and policies clearly.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness as a highly trusted HR partner.
  • Experience using HRIS or HR analytics tools, with specific exposure to severance operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for compiling, tracking, and submitting severance-related data.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously while maintaining organization and quality.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering a positive employee experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of HR Operations experience with a focus on severance operations.
  • Experience managing severance operations, including severance calculations and documentation generation.
  • Experience using Workday for HR transactions and severance case entry.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or comparable case management or ticketing tools.
  • Experience using DocuSign or similar electronic signature platforms for severance agreements and HR documents.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow structured processes.
  • Proven track record of working closely with business leaders and employees in a consultative HR capacity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and process enhancement within HR operations.
  • Exposure to severance package administration, including process design, communication, and case management.
  • HR analytics experience or comfort working with HR data to support decision-making and reporting.

Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid work model, with the expectation to be onsite approximately 50% of the time, typically following a 3 days in-office / 2 days remote or 2 days in-office / 3 days remote schedule depending on the week. Many teams are in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You work closely with a collaborative Severance Operations team that follows a "maker/checker" philosophy, regularly reviewing one another's work to ensure accuracy and compliance. The environment is professional, detail-oriented, and highly focused on confidentiality and employee experience. You will use tools such as Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and DocuSign on a regular basis to manage severance cases, respond to requests, and prepare documentation.
