About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial and civil construction projects from initial planning through closeout. This role requires a strong balance of field awareness, financial control, leadership, and proactive coordination.
You will be responsible for ensuring each project is fully prepared before mobilization, leading smooth execution once underway, and delivering work that meets quality, budget, schedule, and client expectations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ExecutionLead multiple ongoing projects and ensure all prerequisites โ manpower, subcontractors, materials, permits, logistics โ are in place prior to project start.
Oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout, including strategic oversight, field coordination, scheduling, and issue resolution.
Monitor project performance and enforce adherence to company standards, contract requirements, and operational objectives.
Communicate key project events, delays, challenges, and client directives promptly to maintain transparency and alignment.
Budget, Cost Control & Financial OversightDevelop project cost expectations and establish budget limits.
Track all project-related expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Work closely with accounting to prepare accurate billing and maintain strong project financial health.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement budget-conscious strategies without compromising quality.
Subcontractor & Team CoordinationLead the procurement process, prepare and issue subcontracts, and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors.
Collaborate closely with Project Engineers, combining their technical expertise with your operational leadership to drive project success.
Work hand-in-hand with Project Superintendents to coordinate schedules, field execution, resource allocation, and sequencing.
Ensure all project changes are documented, communicated, and integrated into the project plan.
Communication & Client InteractionMaintain consistent communication with internal staff, field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Provide project updates, progress reports, and change notifications proactively.
Demonstrate strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service skills in all project interactions.
Closeout & FinalizationOversee the closing stages of projects including punch lists, documentation, and financial wrap-up.
Coordinate with accounting to ensure timely final billing and project settlement.
Ensure all project documents, changes, and records are up to date and compliant.
Key QualificationsRequiredBachelorโs Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (substantial experience may substitute in lieu of degree).
Minimum 5 years of project management experience in heavy construction.
Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and field operations.
Skilled in negotiation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with construction software and MS Office Suite.
Valid driverโs license; ability to travel to project sites as required.
