About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial and civil construction projects from initial planning through closeout. This role requires a strong balance of field awareness, financial control, leadership, and proactive coordination.

You will be responsible for ensuring each project is fully prepared before mobilization, leading smooth execution once underway, and delivering work that meets quality, budget, schedule, and client expectations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution

  • Oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout, including strategic oversight, field coordination, scheduling, and issue resolution.

  • Monitor project performance and enforce adherence to company standards, contract requirements, and operational objectives.

  • Communicate key project events, delays, challenges, and client directives promptly to maintain transparency and alignment.

Budget, Cost Control & Financial Oversight
  • Develop project cost expectations and establish budget limits.

  • Track all project-related expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgets.

  • Work closely with accounting to prepare accurate billing and maintain strong project financial health.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement budget-conscious strategies without compromising quality.

Subcontractor & Team Coordination
  • Lead the procurement process, prepare and issue subcontracts, and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors.

  • Collaborate closely with Project Engineers, combining their technical expertise with your operational leadership to drive project success.

  • Work hand-in-hand with Project Superintendents to coordinate schedules, field execution, resource allocation, and sequencing.

  • Ensure all project changes are documented, communicated, and integrated into the project plan.

Communication & Client Interaction
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal staff, field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.

  • Provide project updates, progress reports, and change notifications proactively.

  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service skills in all project interactions.

Closeout & Finalization
  • Oversee the closing stages of projects including punch lists, documentation, and financial wrap-up.

  • Coordinate with accounting to ensure timely final billing and project settlement.

  • Ensure all project documents, changes, and records are up to date and compliant.

Key QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (substantial experience may substitute in lieu of degree).

  • Skilled in negotiation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with construction software and MS Office Suite.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license; ability to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred
  • Experience with USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) and FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) project requirements.

  • Experience working with or knowledge of HCSS software.
