The Temporary Knitwear Product Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of seasonal knitwear collections. Working closely with Design, Merchandising, Production, and external partners, this position helps drive the product development process forward by managing timelines, coordinating samples and materials, and ensuring seamless communication across teams.

What you'll get to do

Seasonal prep

  • Send key dates per development calendar and blanket development PO to each factory prior to each seasonal launch
  • Distribute digital and physical color palette to yarn suppliers and factories
  • Coordinate reference sample loans including communication, shipments, payments, and budget

Swatches

  • Ensure knit-down swatches are launched in timely manner and track ETA for on-time receipt
  • Scan all knit-down swatches and upload to shares drive for record keeping

Yarn and Lab Dips

  • Place seasonal yarn POs to mills and ship swatch yarns to factories or dye houses.
  • Once swatches are approved and yarns confirmed by design, launch yarn orders and place POs for proto and SMS yarns
  • Launch lab dips with dye house for SMS if timing allows
  • Launch lab dips with yarn mills for production
  • Track lab dip submissions, revisions, and approvals. Check Production and SMS lab dips against approved fabric strike-offs if possible, as this will take precedence over Pantone references. Send approved fabric strike-off to yarn mills if needed

WIP Management, Invoicing, & Sketch Updates

  • Track seasonal development in WIP across styles, trims, and yarns. Ensure details are always up-to-date in the WIP with new sketches, revised launches, tracking details, etc.
  • Follow up with factories and update proto and SMS x-dates
  • Create style numbers and ensure updated sketches are saved in the shared drive
  • Track invoices to ensure the details remain updated across finished goods, yarns, raw materials, etc., and ensure adherence to seasonal budget.

Design Pass-Off and Tech Pack Launch Management

  • Ensure on-time design pass off to TD with design direction, sketches, and references, and on-time tech packs launch to factories; ship all necessary raw materials for each proto and SMS
  • Request target prices from merch immediately once seasonal styles are confirmed. Partner with design and production teams to calculate target prices per cost template; send targets to Italian factories along TP/BOM launch
  • Partner with wovens PD team to coordinate trim development. Ensure labels, hangtags, hanger loops, and related components are shipped to each factory for protos and SMS; create and upkeep accurate BOMs for each style.

Fittings

  • Flag weekly fit list of protos to wovens PD team to coordinate fittings and book model accordingly
  • Receive and formally check in protos or SMS, ensure TD measures samples before passing off to wovens PD for fitting or styling.
  • Take fit notes, then send to design and TD for validation
  • Take fit photos and upload to both the shared drive and WhatsApp group immediately after each fitting

Styling & Industrialization

  • Distribute alteration notes to design, merch, and production at the end of each styling day to ensure costing is accurately calculated prior to market
  • Oversee and manage SMS alterations in the atelier
  • Communicate any relevant revision notes to production team at industrialization meeting (formal handoff to production)

New Vendor Onboarding (All categories)

  • Manage onboarding process across all categories (RTW, knits, accessories, fabrics) and act as a liaison between vendor and HQ teams
  • Ensure onboarding is completed in a timely manner and vendor profile is added to the necessary systems
