Job description

Founded in 1992, Provide is a national organization that works to ensure access to abortion, historically for those living in rural communities and in Southern and Midwestern states. Provide works remotely to educate and support health and social service providers to be able to serve reproductive health needs, including abortion care. Our work is rooted in the on-the-ground realities of people's lives and the systems and resources available to them. We believe that by giving people essential tools and resources, we can transform the way abortion is experienced, particularly where improved access is needed most.

Provide is looking for self-directed thought partners to join our Board of Directors (a volunteer position). We seek individuals who can contribute to strategic thought direction in partnership with current Board members and who can support the Provide staff. We are specifically seeking professionals with strong financial and operations expertise. Ideal candidates will have substantial professional experience in nonprofit finance, governance, and leadership. Additionally, we value candidates with experience in one of our systems of care, including HIV, family planning, harm reduction, sexual health/education, abortion care/access, sexual assault (SA), intimate partner violence (IPV), and domestic violence (DV).

People of color, women, LGBQIA+, Trans and Nonbinary people, and those with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Provide Board meets in person twice per year with no out-of-pocket expenses for Board members. Prospective Board members must also commit to quarterly virtual committee or working group meetings and to making an annual financial contribution within their means.

If interested, please submit your resume and a cover letter telling us more about you and what interests you in this Board position.
