Job description

Job Title - Engineer Systems Test 2 (Environmental Test Engineer)

Job Location - Plymouth, Minnesota,

WORK SHIFT: (9/80A) - Start - 7 or 8:30am until 4pm or 5:30pm


Our Client Northrop Grumman is looking for an Engineer Systems Test 2 to support our Systems Test Engineering department. As a member of the Systems Test Engineering group, you’ll get to participate in a wide variety of dynamic and climatic test activities for cutting edge weaponory. This position will serve on-site at our facility in Plymouth, MN.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare test plans, coordinate with test facilities, provide test execution oversight, analyze test data and prepare final test reports
  • Perform climatic, vibration, mechanical shock, electromagnetic effects, bench testing of electronic devices, and safety and reliability testing
  • With proper training must be willing to be in the presence of and handle hazardous devices
  • Resolve test-related technical issues and support failure and analysis activities
  • Data collection, reduction, analysis, and presentation
  • Ability to travel

Basic Qualifications for Engineer Systems Test 2

  • BS in Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as MS Excel, Matlab, SciPy, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications for Engineer Systems Test 2

  • Experience with one or more of the following: climatic, vibration, mechanical shock, Electromagnetic Effects (EME), and Insensitive Munitions (IM) Testing
  • Experience using test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, digital acquisition systems, etc.
  • Understanding of energetic testing, components, and materials
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-2105, JOTP-052 and JOTP-053
  • Experience using commercial and/or government test facilities for environmental, EME, or energetic test activities
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
