    Job description

    Job Description
    Professional Plastics is hiring an experienced CNC Programmer to join our growing team.
    We are a leading supplier of engineering plastics with 20+ locations nationwide and a strong reputation for quality and stability.
    We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with an industry specific background. Your resume should include directly applicable experience or transferable skills.
    Position Summary: The CNC Programmer will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. The CNC Programmer may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
    Education and Experience:
    • 5+ years Mastercam experience
    • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experienced in CNC setup
    • Experienced with Onsrud routers
    • CNC machine certification a plus

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.
    • Program vertical and horizontal mills and lathes
    • Ability to perform CNC setup on vertical and horizontal mills and lathes when necessary
    • Analyze drawings, sketches and designs to determine the best program and process to manufacture precision parts
    • Write setup instruction and tool list to optimize setup time
    • Observe operation of machine on trial run to improve program cycle time
    • Create job travelers and manufacturing operations from material and hardware to outside process

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Able to use and read basic measuring devices (measuring tape, calipers, etc.)
    • To perform this job successfully, the individual should have knowledge of design software and manufacturing software, as well as standard office programs.
