Optometrist - Full Time - Full Scope Private Practice - Haymarket, VA

About the practice

Since opening our doors, our practice has been dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to patients throughout Northern Virginia. We are a full-scope private practice committed to delivering personalized, compassionate care while utilizing advanced technology and offering a wide range of specialty services. Our team takes pride in creating a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere where both patients and staff feel valued.

About the optometrist position

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable optometrist to join our Haymarket team. This location serves a diverse patient population, including many residents from nearby retirement communities. Approximately half of the patient base consists of geriatric patients, with a strong emphasis on medical eye care including glaucoma, cataracts, ocular hypertension, and diabetic eye disease, along with comprehensive vision care for families.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Saturday hours (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM) are optional and may be used as an alternate workday if needed.

As an optometrist in our practice, you will be expected to:

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations 
  • Diagnose and manage ocular disease 
  • Perform diabetic eye exams 
  • Provide primary eye care and medical optometry services 
  • Fit contact lenses, including specialty contact lenses 
  • Prescribe corrective lenses 
  • Build strong doctor-patient relationships 
  • Collaborate with an experienced clinical support team 

Our technicians complete all pre-testing and enter patient information into the EHR, allowing our doctors to focus on patient care and clinical decision-making. New graduates are welcome to apply and will receive mentorship and training alongside the current OD before transitioning to independent practice.

Our practice is fully equipped with advanced technology including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, Myopia Master, modern exam lanes, and electronic health records.

We offer a competitive salary, with higher compensation available based on experience. Doctors receive either their guaranteed base salary or a % of production (whichever is greater), with production bonuses paid quarterly.
