Hewn, an independently owned and nationally recognized artisan bakery, is looking for a dependable, organized, and energetic individual to join our Front of House team at our Libertyville Outpost.
Featured in the New York Times, Food & Wine, and Chicago Magazine, we are known for our commitment to naturally fermented heritage breads and handmade pastries. We are a team of dedicated "makers" and food lovers, and weโre looking for someone who shares that same passion for quality and community.
The Details
Role: Part-Time FOH / Barista
Schedule: 2โ3 shifts per week. Sunday availability is required. Potential availability to work at our other locations in Winnetka and Evanston.
The Vibe: Fast-paced, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience) + tips.
What Weโre Looking For
We need an early riser who arrives ready to go and stays organized under pressure. Our FOH staff are the face of Hewn, so a positive attitude and a love for great customer service are essential.
Qualifications:
Barista Experience: Preferred (we take our coffee as seriously as our bread!).
Hospitality Mindset: Previous retail or customer service experience is a must.
Organized & Tech-Savvy: Ability to multitask, interpret production orders, and manage digital invoices/POS systems.
Team Player: A "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Attention to Detail: From stocking the pastry case to describing our fermentation process to a curious customer.
