RTX Corporate Commercial Engines (CE) is looking for a talented Associate Director, Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines Business Communications. Commercial Engines (CE) is Pratt & Whitney’s largest business, making up more than 50 percent of the annual revenue. RTX Communications is seeking an outstanding candidate to develop and deliver communications strategies and content across the P&W CE portfolio, focused on propulsion for the next generation commercial aircraft. As a member of the CE Communications team, you will work with company leaders to help drive business results by providing world‑class communications in support of company priorities.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop and lead an integrated communications plan and cross-functional team to support the organization’s advanced engine program business objectives and employee engagement goals, as a key part of the Commercial Engines single aisle market priority.
  • Track progress on the plan and partner with cross-COE colleagues on measurement.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess progress and course‑correct, as necessary.
  • Prepare and secure approval for communications deliverables, including talking points, key messages, prep packages, posts, featured content, speeches, news releases, holding statements, presentations.
  • Prepare CE and other business leaders for external speaking opportunities.
  • Partner with the Media Relations team to achieve a positive narrative in the media and leverage program news and milestones.
  • Help facilitate media interviews and ensure participants are prepared.
  • Prepare and secure approvals for media statements/Q&As and talking points in partnership with the business leaders and Media Relations team.
  • Partner with the Brand team to develop and deliver compelling and impactful assets and experiences as part of the communications plan.
  • Partner with the Digital Communications team to design and deploy content which generates strong internal and external engagement.
  • Develop and manage relationships with Communications counterparts at customers, partners, external organizations and third‑party influencers.
  • Plan, attend and leverage industry trade shows and events to deliver results in support of CE and advanced programs business objectives, including via media, social media, customer/3rd party testimonials.
  • Meet with communications counterparts to build and advance relationships.
  • Ensure the company is favorably positioned at key trade shows and industry events.
  • Partner with the Employee Communications team to build workforce engagement in support of our business goals and wider internal communications objectives, including townhall meetings, regular leader messages and organizational announcements.
  • Support crisis communications for the wider commercial engines fleet.
  • Travel approximately 10% to both domestic and international locations.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous project management experience, utilizing organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience as a leader with strong interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience executing written, oral, and e‑communications, especially in a virtual environment.
  • Previous experience delivering successful communications campaigns for global engineering /manufacturing organizations, preferably in the aerospace or a related industry.
  • Experience with traditional and non-traditional communication platforms, including print, electronic, social media, video and industry events.

Location/Type:

Hybrid East Hartford, CT is the preferred location, however candidates located near an RTX hub will also be considered. Salary:

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
