    Job description

    Job Summary:
    Pillar is building a next-generation commodity risk management stack for the physical economy, leveraging AI for enhanced market data analysis and automated trade generation. The Staff Software Engineer will own core product features, architect high-performance UIs, and lead the development of AI-enabled features while mentoring other engineers.
    Responsibilities:
    • Own core product features end-to-end — from concept and architecture to shipping, iteration, and scaling
    • Architect and build high-performance UIs that render automated hedge recommendations, track open positions, and show real time marketdata
    • Lead the rebuild and evolution of product architecture across the stack—including UI foundations and backend APIs—to enable speed, reliability, and scale
    • Work directly with founders, and customers to define product direction and translate complex risk workflows into intuitive experiences
    • Lead the development of AI-enabled features, integrating LLMs and model-driven insights into mission-critical operator workflows
    • Drive engineering best practices, mentor other engineers, and help shape Pillar’s product and technical culture
    Qualifications:
    Required:
    • 4+ Years of Experience
    • Proven track record of building products and leading 0 → 1 initiatives
    • Strong background in React/Typescript and familiarity with NextJS
    • Experience in building complex, performant UIs
    • Comfortable working across the stack, including back-end API’s and integrations, but with a bias towards front-end
    • Experience and interest in building AI enabled products, which leverage AI to solve real problems for customers
    • Value for shipping fast and willingness to problem solve
    • Enjoy working with and leading teams as well as working individually
    • Able to clearly communicate with others
    Preferred:
    • Familiarity with Golang
    • Real-time rendering with streaming/websockets
    • Prior Fintech experience
