The Director of Global PLM is a strategic business leader responsible for the integrity, scalability, and lifecycle of Oura's hardware product data. This role allows Oura to scale into a high-volume, multi-category global corporation. You are the executive owner of the "Single Source of Truth," ensuring that global design, supply chain, and manufacturing teams operate with maximum velocity and zero data-related risk.
This is a hybrid position based in San Francisco requiring 3 days per week in the office.
Strategic Leadership & Corporate Scaling- Digital Transformation Roadmap: Define, lead and maintain a Global PLM strategy that anticipates corporate expansion into new markets, regulatory environments, and complex product portfolios.
- Enterprise Scaling & Governance: Further develop the processes and solutions for data integrity and configuration management that allow for increase in simultaneous development programs and production volume without adding organizational friction.
- Cross-Functional Change Management: Serve as the high-level bridge between Design, R&D, Supply Chain, etc to promote global Engineering Change Order (ECO) workflows and product release gates.
Global Operational Ownership- Global Configuration Strategy: Own the high-level logic for multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) management, ensuring seamless data synchronization between international design hubs and global manufacturing partners.
- Strategic Vendor & Budget Management: Manage the executive-level relationships with software providers and implementation partners. Own the PLM CAPEX/OPEX budget and ensure the technology stack delivers a high ROI for the global business.
- Organizational Data Policy: Maintain the global policies for part numbering, revision control, and intellectual property protection to ensure long-term data durability.
- Advanced Digital Innovation: Champion the integration of AI within the product lifecycle to ensure the global PLM ecosystem acts as an intelligent catalyst for business velocity.
Technical & Operational Leadership- Hands-on Operational Excellence: Demonstrate deep experience in the daily operative tasks of a PLM team-including BOM auditing, ECO processing, and system administration-to effectively mentor the team and identify process bottlenecks from the ground up.
- Team Technical Empowerment: Lead by example in the tactical execution of data migrations and system integrations, ensuring the leadership vision is grounded in the practical realities of hardware and software engineering workflows.
- Process Troubleshooting: Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical data issues, utilizing past operational experience to drive rapid resolution of roadblocks in the product release cycle.
Strategic Requirements- Leadership Experience: 10+ years of leadership in high-growth, global corporations, with a proven track record of managing PLM as a business function rather than a technical tool.
- Scaling Expertise: Significant experience leading large-scale organizational change or digital transformations that supported rapid international corporate growth.
- Multisite-multicultural scope: Experience in driving development and operational front over multiple timezones.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional ability to translate complex data lifecycles into business-value narratives for the C-Suite.
- Operational Breadth: Deep understanding of the intersection between product data and global supply chain dynamics, including contract manufacturing and international logistics.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
San Francisco Salary Range: $226,100 - $266,000
