Location: Columbus, OH. This is an on-site opportunity based in our Columbus office.

Note: Candidates should have 3+ years of litigation experience and an active Ohio law license. Meaningful deposition and courtroom experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must also have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Job Description

  • Manage substantive litigation matters through pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, witness preparation, and resolution.
  • Work directly with clients and participate in case strategy discussions.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies while proactively identifying issues and practical solutions.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, correspondence, and other substantive litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex litigation issues.
  • Take and defend depositions and prepare fact and expert witnesses for testimony.
  • Appear in court, handle hearings, argue motions, and pursue other stand-up advocacy opportunities.
  • Exercise independent judgment and take ownership of assigned matters and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys across offices while confidently moving matters forward.
  • Contribute to a team culture focused on excellent client service and professional development.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience.
  • Active Ohio law license.
  • Experience handling substantive litigation matters with increasing levels of independence.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience with pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and case strategy.
  • Deposition and courtroom experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and clients.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
