Job description

For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot).
Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Project Coordinator to provide essential support for roadway and lighting construction projects across multiple states. While the projects span a wide geographic area, this role is office-based in Lexington, KY and serves as a critical link between vendors, operations teams, and field personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
In this role, you'll manage a variety of tasks that keep projects moving forward. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Issuing purchase orders and managing material submittals for multiple projects.
  • Coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Reviewing quotes, tracking certifications and invoices, and maintaining organized project records.
  • Assisting with DOT and other pre-construction paperwork as required.
  • Responding to RFIs and identifying potential change orders.
  • Supporting field personnel via phone and email with material orders, status updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborating closely with operations to meet project deadlines and budget goals.
  • Occasional travel and after-hours availability (nights/weekends) may be required. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance of our Lexington office.

Qualifications
This role is heavily administrative, with an emphasis on documentation and communication. To succeed in this role, you should bring:
  • Strong communication skills - clear and professional via phone and email.
  • Excellent customer service mindset - responsive and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities - organized and detail-focused.
  • Proficiency with technology - Office 365 and SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills - proactive in identifying and addressing issues.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn - appetite for growth and new challenges.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

If you're ready to build a long-term career in a dynamic environment and have the drive to take on new challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
