The job details are as follows:
The Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of commercial facilities, building systems, and campus grounds. This role independently performs preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple building systems, diagnoses and resolves complex facility issues, coordinates with vendors and internal stakeholders, and provides technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced maintenance technicians. The position serves as a technical resource to support facility operations and business continuity.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial building systems and infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and building automation systems.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Perform repairs involving plumbing, lighting, flooring, ceilings, painting, and other commercial building systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, mechanical spaces, and data centers to identify maintenance needs and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the maintenance and operation of building automation systems, emergency generators, security systems, UPS equipment, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal departments, contractors, and external vendors to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Prioritize and respond to routine, urgent, and emergency maintenance requests while balancing preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Assist with campus grounds maintenance, including seasonal snow removal and ice mitigation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or related software.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance facility reliability, operational efficiency, and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and on-the-job training to Facilities Maintenance Technicians and Associate Facilities Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable building codes.

Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial building maintenance practices and facility systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to independently prioritize work and resolve complex maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with building automation systems, computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), and maintenance-related technology.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to coordinate work across multiple stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualification:
  • 5+ years of commercial building maintenance experience, including experience supporting multiple building systems.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with building automation systems, emergency power systems, or other critical facility infrastructure preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance situations.
  • Occasional overtime required.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in an additional European language preferred.
