Position Summary

The Cook works in a team environment to prepare all types of food items for the buffet. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.  

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 to $16.00

About the Venue

OVG's hospitality division partners with Winstar World Casino to provide hospitality guest services at Gran Via Buffet. Our goal is to provide our guests with a GREAT experience when they join us for a meal. 

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing high quality, fresh food items using standardized recipes and methods of preparation, as directed by other kitchen team members.
  • Maintains responsibility for kitchen and personal safety and sanitation, as well as care of kitchen equipment.
  • Operates a broad range of kitchen equipment including stoves, broilers, deep fryers and other food prep equipment, and uses hand tools, knives, and other related small wares.
  • Replenishes prep line food items as necessary to ensure proper presentation and availability for guests.
  • Responds properly to guest preferences and concerns by communicating in a positive, respectful manner to both internal and external guests.
  • Ensures proper food storage and food serving temperatures.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events and varied schedules including weekends and holidays per business need.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 or over
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate with team members, management staff and guest in a clear, business-like and respectful manner.
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or related Food Service Job Experience.
  • All employees must obtain a valid gaming license from the Gaming Commission prior to beginning work and are required to have the license renewed as mandated by the Gaming Commission.
