Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor supervises and coordinates event setup activities and operations for the facility and provides responsible staff assistance to the Director of Event Operations.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00

About the Venue

Flint River Entertainment Complex is owned by the City of Albany and is operated by OVG. Located in Albany, Ga., Flint River Entertainment Complex is comprised of three venues- the Albany Civic Center, Albany Municipal Auditorium and Veterans Park Amphitheatre. Hosting live spectator events, banquet, meetings, trade shows, conference, concerts and more, Flint River Entertainment Complex prides itself on bringing quality entertainment to southwest Georgia. 

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise conversions.
  • Oversee scheduling of changeover staff.
  • Serve as a lead for the operations team during events and be "hands on" at all times, leading by example in accordance with set standards.
  • Meet with Operations Manager/Event Manager at the beginning of event to confirm all details of data sheet related to job functions, obtain assignments and review any changes.
  • Prepare event-staffing sheets (postings, staff info sheets, etc.).
  • Assist with the daily maintenance operations of the building.
  • Organize all storage rooms to be in neat and working order.
  • Maintain all event equipment (staging, basketball equipment, etc).
  • Oversee opening or closing of facility for a move-in or move-out.
  • Build and maintain tenant relations.
  • Assist in the purchasing of event equipment.
  • Responsible for reporting to the Operations Manager any issues during events, and using proper etiquette on radio.
  • Assist in ensuring that employees' presentation meets standards - uniforms, personal hygiene, presentation etc.
  • Ensure all practices comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards; enforce safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience with facility coordination, event changeovers, and direct employee supervision.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to function in a multi-task environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital.
  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, business, or other related field preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and function in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends and select holidays.
  • Must demonstrate accountability, initiative and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications are necessary.
  • Experience or knowledge of portable basketball court installation, basketball goals operation, stage building, forklift operation preferred.
