Job description

New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a CNC 5-Axis Machinist for a client located in Houston, TX to join our team. 

Pay: depends on experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; overtime may be required based on business needs.

Shift Differential: None

Summary

Responsible for setting up and operating CNC 5-axis Mazak Integrex machining centers to produce high-quality, precision-machined parts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CNC mills and lathes, a quality-focused mindset, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances while working independently in a production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC 5-axis Mazak Integrex machining centers safely and efficiently.
  • Perform setup changes, first article inspections, and production inspections.
  • Load and unload parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment.
  • Set offsets, perform simple program edits, and make machine adjustments as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, routers, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including profilometers, dial indicators, depth gages, OD/ID micrometers, and groove micrometers.
  • Maintain tight tolerances, often as close as 0.0005.
  • Identify machining issues and out-of-tolerance conditions before and during production runs.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machine controls to ensure product quality and efficiency.
  • Understand and utilize G & M codes for production machining.
  • Identify and correctly utilize Capto tool holders, milling tools, turning tools, and inserts.
  • Follow dispatch reports and ensure jobs are completed in proper sequence.
  • Verify all products meet specifications before moving to the next operation.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and organized condition.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Manage workflow independently while meeting production goals.
  • Adhere to all company safety, quality, and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of combined CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, and/or 5-axis machining experience.
  • Experience with Mazak Integrex machining centers preferred.
  • Knowledge of G & M codes required.
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and machining calculations.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and cutting tools.
  • Ability to perform machine setups, inspections, and troubleshooting independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain and document why a part is not meeting specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and accountability.
