We are an organization of consultative advisors and problem solvers. We help companies and individuals around the globe address their most significant risk, workforce, wealth management and retirement challenges through custom solutions and a people-first approach. To learn more, please visit: https://www.NFP.com.
Summary:
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping employers develop healthier, more engaged, and resilient workforces while serving as a trusted strategic advisor. The role offers the chance to shape and influence the continued growth of a national consulting practice within NFP, an Aon company, collaborating with experienced teams across benefits, analytics, communications, compliance, and vendor management to address complex client challenges. In addition, you will contribute to the development of scalable tools, thought leadership, and consulting best practices that enhance client outcomes and strengthen the overall consulting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic wellbeing consulting engagements for mid-size and large employer clients, including discovery, planning, recommendations, and ongoing advisory support.
  • Design integrated wellbeing strategies that align health, emotional wellbeing, financial wellbeing, caregiving, culture, communications, vendor solutions, and benefits priorities.
  • Translate client needs, workforce insights, market trends, vendor capabilities, and program results into clear guidance for HR, benefits, finance, leadership, and account team partners.
  • Guide vendor strategy by supporting evaluations, RFPs, implementation planning, performance conversations, and ongoing accountability for client value.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative information to identify priorities, shape recommendations, evaluate progress, and tell a clear story about program impact.
  • Lead client projects and consulting deliverables with strong organization, ownership, follow-through, and readiness for client-facing interactions.
  • Collaborate with account teams, practice leaders, and internal subject matter experts to strengthen client relationships, support retention, and contribute to growth opportunities.
  • Develop and refine scalable resources, frameworks, presentations, and client-facing tools that support consistent national practice delivery.
  • Mentor colleagues, share expertise, and help raise the quality, consistency, and strategic depth of consulting work across the team.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required; advanced education, certifications, or professional credentials in wellbeing, benefits, HR, public health, or a related field are a plus.
  • Life and Health license strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain within first three months.

Core Competencies
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience with health and benefits and/or wellbeing required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of employer wellbeing consulting experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in employer wellbeing, health and benefits, health transformation, employee engagement, or a related consulting/advisory environment.
  • Experience supporting complex employer clients and advising internal or external stakeholders on program strategy, engagement, communications, vendor solutions, or measurement.
  • Strong working knowledge of the employer wellbeing marketplace, including emerging trends, vendor solutions, point solutions, engagement strategies, and integration with benefits priorities.
  • Comfort interpreting data, trends, client context, and partner feedback to develop thoughtful recommendations and practical next steps.
  • Strategic consulting judgment and ability to design practical, client-centered solutions.
  • Executive-ready communication skills, including strong writing, facilitation, and presentation presence.
  • Ability to influence through credibility, preparation, business context, and subject matter expertise.
  • Project leadership, organization, accountability, and comfort handling multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Strong listening, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and relationship management skills.
  • Market curiosity, proactive problem-solving, and ownership of work from concept through completion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and AI, especially PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to create polished client-facing materials.

Travel and Work Environment:
  • Hybrid role with periodic access to the Chicago office for collaboration, planning, and team connection.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically (25% of the time) for client meetings, internal collaboration, and practice priorities.

What We Offer:
We're proud to offer a competitive salary, PTO & paid holidays, 401(k) with match, exclusive discount programs, health & wellness programs, and more. Our PeopleFirst culture focuses on building and nurturing lifelong relationships with our employees because, at the end of the day, we exist to be there for others. The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location.
