Job description

NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a confidential law firm to identify a Finance Associate for its growing debt finance practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with experience representing borrowers, sponsors, or lenders in middle-market financing transactions. The role offers significant client interaction, hands-on drafting, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic financing matters.


Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate credit agreements, loan documents, and financing transaction documentation
  • Represent borrowers, sponsors, lenders, and private credit providers in acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, refinancings, and growth capital transactions
  • Manage financing transactions from structuring through closing while coordinating with clients, lenders, and opposing counsel
  • Support complex debt finance matters, including private credit, syndicated lending, asset-based lending, and fund finance transactions


Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Texas Bar admission
  • 3-5 years of debt finance or corporate finance experience at a law firm
  • Experience drafting and negotiating financing documents for middle-market lending transactions, including secured credit facilities, acquisition financings, and private credit transactions
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage transaction workstreams in a fast-paced practice
