    Job description

This Tree Service role focuses on executing safe, efficient, and high-quality arboricultural services, acting as a crucial part of an active crew on diverse residential and commercial job sites. You’ll be supporting complex operations such as removals, pruning, and rigging while actively growing your skill set in climbing and equipment use.

Based in Morristown, NJ, this established, family-owned and operated organization provides comprehensive tree care and property health services. The company offers stable, year-round work and fosters a safety-first culture that invests deeply in its team through paid training and continuing education.

    Responsibilities

    • Support active job sites by assisting with tree removals, pruning, and rigging support.
    • Operate and maintain essential tree care equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and mini-skids.
    • Maintain safe and efficient work habits consistently, demonstrating a strict respect for safety at all times.
    • Utilize bucket trucks, aerial lifts, or assist with crane-assisted jobs to safely execute elevated tree care tasks.
    • Grow your personal skillset over the first 6-12 months, mastering new climbing, rigging, and equipment techniques.
    • Collaborate reliably as a trusted part of the team, taking direction effectively to ensure efficient project completion.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on tree service experience is required.
    • Proven physical capability and a strong work ethic defined by hustle and urgency.
    • Demonstrated ability to confidently operate a chainsaw, chipper, and mini-skid.
    • A coachable and accountable mindset with the ability to take direction, work effectively within a crew, and maintain reliable attendance.
    • A high degree of safety consciousness at all times.
    • Nice to have: A Class A CDL license is preferred, though exceptions can be made for highly skilled climbers and aerial lift operators.
    • Nice to have: Prior specialized experience with climbing, bucket trucks, lifts, or crane-assisted jobs.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Climber / Aerial Lift Operator: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour.
    • Grounds Crew (CDL): $26.00 - $35.00 per hour.
    • Grounds Crew (Non-CDL): $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
    • Year-round work providing stable and consistent employment.
    • Top pay structures based on individual experience and skill level.
    • Paid training and continuing education opportunities to advance your arboriculture career.
    • Paid time off, including dedicated PTO and vacation days.
