GENERAL SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager or designate. This position is responsible for customer satisfaction and acts as liaison between the customer and NASG. Responsible for maintaining customer and NASG quality standards and policies, supporting Manufacturing and other support functions to resolve concerns, driving corrective and preventative actions, and continually improving processes to prevent problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. ย Act as the customer contact for all quality issues and represent NASG as required to resolve issues
B. ย Creation and maintenance ย of Control ย Plans, ย FMEA's, Flow Diagrams ย and ย In-Process
Inspection documentation
C. ย Provide guidance to Production group related to part inspection
D. ย Aid in gage design reviews and purchase of applicable gages
E. ย Assist production with inspection, SPC, gage use
F. ย Participate in MRB review and product containment activity
G. ย Lead Problem Solving activities for the timely resolution to internal and external CAR's and customer quality related issues
H. ย Lead Corrective and Preventative teams, maintain and track Open Issues Logs
I.ย ย CMM Operation and part verification to support NASG's quality system as necessary
J.ย ย Perform weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc..) as required
K. ย Perform annual validations / PPAP as required
L. ย Perform routine inspections, dimensional studies, and investigations, as necessary
M. Ensure proper containment procedures are followed when poor quality is detected
N. ย Support manufacturing when abnormalities occur, solve the problem or escalate upward
O. ย Ensure that all abnormalities to the standards are documented, escalated, and resolved while working together with Team Members to improve the standard for better Safety, Quality, and
Productivity
P. ย Provide support in the absence of the Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Manager
Q. ย Participate in Layered Audit process
R. ย Participate in New Product Development as necessary
S. ย Support and assist EPC team by providing leadership and basic quality direction
T. ย Support Internal/External/Customer audits as required
U. ย Coordinate individual, team and plant improvement activities
V. ย In addition to performing primary duties, the individual shall provide support where deemed necessary by Management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Education:
โขย ย Bachelor degree in metrology, industrial, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering
(Or relevant experience)
โขย ย Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
Experience:
โขย ย Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
โขย ย Minimum 3 years in automotive manufacturing
โขย ย Minimum 5 years cumulative in Quality functions
Personal/Technical Skills:
โขย ย Thorough understanding of Control Plans, FMEA's, Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection
โขย ย Thorough knowledge of GD&T, SPC, Gage R&R, and gage use
โขย ย CMM Operation after programs and set up are established
โขย ย Understanding of weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc..)
โขย ย APQP, PPAP, MSA, Core Tools
โขย ย Thorough understanding of Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
โขย ย Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision
โขย ย Demonstrate strong leadership abilities.
โขย ย Demonstrate and model Hands-on, involved, Go-See approach
โขย ย Highly organized
โขย ย Strong Interpersonal communication skills
โขย ย Will have the ability to work schedule that allows completion of the job on a daily basis
Language Skills:
