Job description

Job description NAC International, a global provider in nuclear fuel cycle management solutions and consulting services, is seeking a detail-oriented Fabrication Manager with strong organizational management and problem-solving skills to join our growing team at our Peachtree Corners, GA headquarters. This is a hybrid remote position which offers flexibility to work both on-site and remotely. WHO WE ARE: NAC International is a global leader in nuclear fuel cycle management and consulting services.

For more than 50 years, we have been at the forefront of nuclear innovation, delivering safe, sustainable, and forward-thinking solutions in fuel cycle technology and waste management. Our reputation is built on engineering excellence, strategic collaboration, and a strong commitment to solving complex challenges for clients around the world. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Fabrication Manager at NAC International, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the successful manufacturing of components for spent fuel storage and transportation systems.

This position bridges engineering design and supplier execution, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong technical judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly regulated environment. Youโ€™ll work closely with fabricators, internal engineering teams, and clients to maintain compliance with industry standards while driving efficiency and quality throughout the fabrication process. WHAT YOUโ€™LL OWN: Youโ€™ll take ownership of the entire fabrication lifecycle from initial order placement through final delivery.

This includes managing supplier relationships, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality requirements. You will be the go-to resource for resolving fabrication challenges, coordinating quality assurance activities, and safeguarding compliance with ASME, AWS, and nuclear QA standards. Your efforts will help drive project success and client satisfaction.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO: Serve as the primary interface with our fabricators to ensure on-time product delivery, cost and schedule performance, compliance with project budget, and to ensure technical and quality requirements of NAC and NACโ€™s clients are met. Regularly visit fabricators to verify progress, interface with customer representatives, witness critical inspections/tests, address fabrication issues as they occur and issue trip reports with recommended follow up actions. Conduct fabrication readiness assessments, prepare document change requests for specifications and drawings and recommend disposition of fabricator initiated nonconformance reports as required in coordination with engineering, quality, and project management.

Review all required prefabrication documents, solicit other required reviews and review final documentation packages, ensuring resolution of technical, quality, and regulatory comments. Upon the completion of a project, review performance of the fabricator, identify successes and areas for improvement, and prepare a comprehensive project close-out report, documenting accomplishments, lessons learned, and make recommendations for the next project. WHAT YOUโ€™LL BRING: Bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent engineering-related field required.

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience working with fabricators and constructors, preferably in the nuclear industry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Must be customer focused with the ability to develop effective relationships.

Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a matrixed project environment. Background in 10 CFR Parts 50, 71 and 72 preferred. Application and interpretation of welding codes (Section IX, AWS) heavily preferred.

Knowledgeable of applicable ASME codes and standards including NQA-1 experience heavily preferred. Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time for overnight and extended travel, including the potential for overseas travel. WHY NAC?

At NAC, we offer more than just a job โ€“ we offer a mission-driven career. Our team enjoys competitive compensation aligned with industry benchmarks, Company paid health insurance, long and short disability and life insurance, supplemental health insurance options, generous paid time off benefits, 11 paid holidays, 401k with employer matching contributions, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave and hybrid remote work flexibility. Join us in shaping the future of nuclear energy.

Apply today and become a part of a team thatโ€™s redefining whatโ€™s possible. NAC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
