Automotive Technician Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs according to dealership standards and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, drivability concerns, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and more
- Complete accurate inspections and identify necessary repairs
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and advanced technology to efficiently troubleshoot concerns
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly with service advisors
- Stay current with evolving automotive technology through training and education
- Perform quality control inspections and road tests to verify repairs
Automotive Technician Requirements
Successful candidates will have:
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive technician experience
- Dealership experience strongly preferred
- Import vehicle experience required; Mazda experience preferred
- ASE certifications preferred
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience with shop equipment including diagnostic tools, alignment equipment, wheel and tire equipment, and A/C service equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to complete quality repairs efficiently and accurately
