M&J Engineering, D.P.C. is a quality provider of multi-discipline consulting services with over 300 employees. Since its inception in 2004, M&J has grown into diversified provider of engineering, construction management, construction inspection, technology, and environmental services to a broad range of clients, including federal, state and city/local agencies, private owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
M&J is a leader in construction management and inspection, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel airport, port, marine/coastal, environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations.

M&J is seeking a Materials Inspector to perform field sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete on District Department of Transportation (DDOT) projects, ensuring materials meet specifications and maintaining accurate testing documentation and equipment calibration.
• Perform field sampling and testing of construction materials including soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete.
• Conduct density testing, compaction testing, and materials sampling in accordance with project specifications.
• Document materials testing results and maintain testing records.
• Coordinate materials testing with project inspection staff.
• Verify materials incorporated into the project meet applicable specifications.
• Maintain calibration and operation of testing equipment including nuclear density gauges.
• Assist with documentation of test results for project records
Required
• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in materials inspection or testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I.
• Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.
Preferred
• NICET Level II or III – Construction Materials Testing.
• DDOT materials testing certifications.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
