Senior Window Systems Engineer - Contract to Hire !!

ÂMust be senior, having at leastÂ8-10+ years of Windows server/admin experience. Needs to be local, as there is a F2F interview.

• Must have SQL experience but ideal candidate would also have Oracle

Scope of Work:

Client requires contractor assistance with hands-on expertise building; designing and supporting complex IT Infrastructure environments utilizing Windows servers, NAS, SAN, and Oracle Databases, all virtualized using VMware ESX/vSphere with built-in fault-tolerance.

Â

General tasks include:

• Administer production Windows 2003/2008/2012 R2 servers including Oracle application and SharePoint 2007/2013 servers including Cloud-based systems
• Build, maintain, and support of all systems; kernel tuning, systems IO adjustments
• Plan and design new fault-tolerant systems to support technical project requirements
• Task automation by writing BASH/Shell scripts & GPOs for OS administration
• Design new SAN environment and optimize existing NAS clusters
• Handle Tier 3 technical support issues

Required Technical Skills & Hands-on experienced:

OS:

• Windows 2003, Windows 2008 R2, & Windows 2012 R2 advanced administration (automation, VBS and BASH scripting, building, troubleshooting, print server, updating, WSUS, etc.)
• Solid understanding of Windows server clustering (NAS servers)

Virtualization:

• Citrix, VDI, ESX 5.x/6.0 and vSphere 5.x/6.0 (total systems administration, storage, failover, backup/recovery, hot/cold virtual machine cloning, networking, data stores, Virtual Center, Upgrading from 5.x to 6.0, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, etc.);
• VCenter, M partitions, ports, iSCI discovery methods, various commands

• EMC administration (EMC CX300/VNX 5200, Navisphere and Unisphere EMC storage system management tools, building and managing LUNS, Storage Pools, Common Internet File System (CIFS) shares, RAID, updating, patching)
