Join Our Team: Adaptive Sports Coordinator! (part time, seasonal, hours vary based on season)

Do you have a heart for inclusive play and a knack for organizing sports? We are looking for a split-site Adaptive Programming Coordinator to support our amazing athletes in Mill Creek and Monroe!

What you'll do:

You'll be the "MVP" behind the scenes-recruiting volunteers, chatting with families, and running the show on game days. From the Miracle League baseball field in Monroe to the Basketball courts in Mill Creek, you will help create an environment where every athlete belongs.

What we're looking for:

  • A "people person" with top-tier communication skills.

  • A leader who can recruit and inspire volunteers.

  • Someone comfortable with a flexible, seasonal schedule.

Position Summary:

Develop, organize, and implement high-quality YMCA Adaptive Programs tailored to specific target populations. This role includes working in program ratios as needed and fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive environment that promotes participant safety and engagement in alignment with YMCA policies, practices, and procedures. Responsibilities also include supervising and overseeing all game-day operations at Miracle Field or other adaptive program sites, coordinating teams, and facilitating modified gameplay experiences.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage, direct, and coordinate programs at the assigned location.

Recruit, train, and develop volunteer buddies.

Review and evaluate staff performance.

Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve program goals.

Ensure programs operate within budget and that program fees are collected.

Maintain compliance with state and local regulations related to program areas.

Uphold YMCA program standards and enforce safety procedures.

Oversee the upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.

Build and maintain relationships with parent groups, organizations, and agencies related to assigned programs.

Maintain accurate records and department files.

Organize special events for parents.

Support YMCA fundraising activities.

Assist with Program Committee meetings.

Contribute to the marketing and distribution of program information.

Compile program statistics and assess program effectiveness and participation.

Order program supplies, including uniforms.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Assist with the Adaptive Program setup and preparation.

Check in all volunteers and coaches.

Foster a warm, welcoming environment for all participants.

Step in as needed to coach, instruct, and support participants with diverse needs in adaptive programming.

Ensure clear communication with volunteers and actively recruit "buddies" for game day support.

Game days vary by season but primarily take place on weekends.

Qualifications:

Minimum age: 18 years of age or older

One year or more supervisory experience, preferred

Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Strong computer skills and experience with standard business software

Strong professional written and verbal communication skills

Fluency in second language desired
