Job description

Role Title: Litigation Attorney (Commercial Real Estate)

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote, US-based.

micro1 is engaging Litigation Attorney (Commercial Real Estate) experts to contribute to a groundbreaking project focused on modeling and evaluating multi-turn commercial real estate disputes. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work
  1. Draft authentic litigation work product, including motions, briefs, demand letters, and discovery, in response to evolving commercial real estate disputes.
  2. Produce turn-by-turn deliverables under senior direction, mirroring the process of submitting drafts for partner review in real practice.
  3. Develop and document rubric items alongside your drafts, explicitly outlining criteria for strong responses to opposing counsel's submissions.
  4. Incorporate senior feedback efficiently each round, demonstrating adaptability with minimal need for redirection.
  5. Ensure continuity in case theory and litigation posture across multiple engagement turns.
  6. Identify and flag procedural uncertainties, missing information, or factual ambiguities needing resolution by the senior or team lead.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Active or lapsed license as a US attorney, admitted in at least one US jurisdiction.
  2. Minimum of 3 years' post-JD litigation experience, emphasizing real drafting, discovery, and motion practice (not solely transactional work).
  3. Proven background in handling commercial real estate litigation related to leases, transactions, development, landlord-tenant issues, zoning, or financing/security interests.
  4. Demonstrated ability to draft complex litigation documents under direction, specifically within commercial real estate disputes.
  5. Exemplary written communication skills in English, with strong mastery of legal register and analysis.
  6. Firm (BigLaw, boutique, or mid-market) experience and exposure to multiple matter types are advantageous.
  7. Previous participation in AI-based legal projects or federal court commercial litigation is a plus.
