Job description

Who we are
The real world is the next frontier, and at Metropolis, we are creating the artificial intelligence to make it responsive. We are pioneering the Recognition Economy - a future where mundane repetition disappears and being known unlocks access, comfort and belonging everywhere you go. From transforming parking into a seamless drive-in, drive-out experience for millions of Members to expanding our intelligence layer across retail and hospitality, we are building a world that feels instinctive and magical. The future isn't coming; it's here, and we need builders, innovators and problem solvers to help us create it.
Who you are
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Director, Airport Revenue Optimization to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary architect responsible for developing our strategies for and executing our parking revenue management services to airports. Your mission is to develop the strategies and methodologies, build the tools and lead a team of revenue management professionals to optimize the parking revenue of airports across pre-bookings and drive-ups. The role bridges across high-level strategic vision, technical detail and operational excellence in client service. You will lead in a cross-functional ecosystem - encompassing revenue management, data science, and marketing - to ensure our value proposition isn't just a promise, but a productized reality. You are not just managing a service; you are overseeing the evolution of our service into a data and AI driven offering. You will lead the growth of our revenue management functions, moving away from manual analysis toward scalable, data- and tech-enabled solutions that drive measurable uplift for the world's largest airports.
What you'll do
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the suite of revenue management services (forecasting, pricing, inventory, reporting) to function as a single, coherent value proposition; bring a perspective, based on data and experience
  • Provide senior leadership over the revenue management team, which is led by a director and includes a team of revenue management professionals that serve our airport clients
  • Own senior client relationships and work with our clients and teams to drive impact, ultimately measured as increase in parking revenue
  • Lead the development of next generation pricing, inventory and channel management strategies (e.g. customer segmentations, fencing, etc) and operationalize and deploy these strategies
  • Lead the transition of manual Revenue Management tasks into data-driven, automated services; partner with data and engineering teams to leverage AI for financial forecasting, demand/supply modeling, and task automation, ensuring capture of cost efficiencies through scale
  • Develop and adjust dashboards and reports, and establish the "Gold Standard" for measuring growth and revenue impact, in collaboration with data and analytics resources; prove the ROI of our solution to airport leaders within the context of complex public-sector environments
  • Identify, monitor and update critical drivers of airport parking demand to forecast unconstrained demand and consumption (e.g., impact to price points, uptake of different price points at different market conditions)
  • Direct the gathering of sophisticated market insights, including off-airport supply and airline capacity trends, to feed into our automated, dynamic pricing algorithms and reporting products
  • Serve as the bridge between Aviation Ops, Finance, Sales, and Product groups in supporting our airport customers and developing new customer relationships
  • Identify potential partnership opportunities that could drive GTM of our offerings (e.g. broader loyalty program)
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related quantitative field; or equivalent experience
  • Strong quantitative skills and thinking; mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of pricing and revenue management concepts and key metrics, and ability to present on and engage in problem solving about these to/with senior airport executives
  • Background in B2C Revenue Management and Pricing in an industry with perishable inventory, preferably in travel or transportation (e.g. airlines, rental cars, hotels); whether at an operator, a solution provider or a specialty consultancy
  • Progressive senior operations and service delivery leadership experience is essential, preferably in a complex, high-volume environment (e.g., airport operations, transportation, logistics)
  • Proven track record of impact (e.g., economic, organizational, topline)
  • Hands-on leader who has built close-to-reporting processes in complex environments
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building from ground up
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies
  • Familiarity with modeling tools and some familiarity with Revenue Management Systems; basic familiarity with AI tools (e.g. LLMs) for data analysis
While not required, these are a plus:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related quantitative field
  • Knowledge of aviation and airport data sources, limitations and relative merits
