Job description

Job Summary: The Field Service Technician plays a critical role in setting up our customers for success. You will be the "boots on the ground" responsible for traveling to customer sites to install smart water equipment, troubleshoot hardware in the field, and ensure system performance. This role is perfect for a motivated self-starter who enjoys technical problem-solving and working in a variety of outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation & Maintenance: Install water meters, registers, and monitoring equipment at mobile home parks, commercial properties, and utilities.
  • Field Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues on-site to ensure data is flowing to the WaterScope platform.
  • Data & Onboarding: Analyze water usage data during setup and supervise contract installation crews to ensure Metron standards are met.
  • Customer Excellence: Provide on-site customer service to explain our technology and update service requests with job details.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of tools and specialized equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requirements: High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift 50 lbs and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the month (day trips and overnight travel) with all expenses paid, and home on the weekends.
  • Tech Skills: Proficiency with basic computer programs (Excel/Word) and the ability to learn proprietary hardware/software.
  • Compliance: Must be able to pass a background check.

Preferred Experience
  • Construction, plumbing, or irrigation background.
  • Prior experience with water meters or HVAC systems.

Additional Information
  • Location: Louisville, CO (Travel required)
  • Employment Type: Full-time (40+ hours per week)
  • Shift: Typical daytime hours; may vary based on travel and project needs.

Salary and Benefits
  • Base Salary Range: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience) and performance-based bonus.
  • Benefits: Competitive package including Medical, Dental, and Vision plans; 401(k) with company match; and Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Training: Metron provides excellent training and certification in the OSHA Confined Space Program.
