Job Description RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Substation Physical Engineer in Marietta, GA. This is a full time, direct hire, office based position with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Substation Physical Engineer Provide substation physical engineering, technical support, and supervision to a Transmission Substation engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. You will provide technical competency and direction on complex engineering and technical problems for a range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems, and solar collector substations. This role includes both direct billable client work (project work) and project management support.

You will lead discipline work, perform responsible charge engineering duties, and manage project schedules and budgets, as well as support proposal development and business development efforts. As a Substation Physical Engineer YOU will: Provide engineering/technical expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems Effectively plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities Produce thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, documentation, and calculations Support continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge Understand and create substation physical arrangement drawing packages for construction Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and interact with internal engineers Monitor deliverables, schedules, and present solutions to clients YOU are the ideal Substation Physical Engineer candidate if you have: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution 5-7 years of experience in power delivery engineering in the electrical industry Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license within one year Strong understanding of substation design, including equipment arrangements, grounding, and construction requirements Experience creating substation physical design project scopes, estimates, and schedules Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents such as drawings, specifications, and standards It's a BONUS if you have: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with NCEES record Advanced understanding of substation design for utility stations up to 500kV Ability to perform bus calculations, lightning protection calculations, and use software for ground grid designs Experience leading a team of engineers and designers Knowledge of installation requirements for high voltage transformers, disconnect switches, breakers, and other equipment Field experience in construction environments implementing or verifying engineering drawings About Our CLIENT performs distribution, transmission and substation construction services and conducts turnkey engineering-construction projects for utilities, electric cooperatives and municipalities of all sizes across the country.
