Job description

Experienced Painter – MDI Management

MDI Management is seeking an Experienced Painter (As-Needed / Project-Based).

This role is on an as-needed basis, with hours varying according to property projects. You will focus on rehabbing and painting multi-family dwellings, including interiors of apartments, condos, and townhomes, after tenants move out and before new renters move in. Work will be scheduled around property needs, providing flexibility for both the company and the painter.

We are looking for someone with professional painting experience who takes pride in their work, follows industry best practices, and enjoys seeing projects completed beautifully and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:

  • Paint interiors and selected exterior areas of multi-family properties, including walls, ceilings, doors, trim, cabinets, and baseboards
  • Prepare units for painting: patch holes, sand, prime, and perform minor repairs to ensure a professional finish
  • Protect surfaces and furnishings during every painting project, including flooring, cabinetry, lighting fixtures, and landscaping
  • Walk the property to identify areas that need painting or touch-ups, and maintain tidy work areas
  • Maintain all painting tools, brushes, rollers, and equipment in clean, working order
  • Assist with minor maintenance or prep work as needed, such as caulking, trim repair, or small carpentry tasks
  • Complete projects efficiently, meeting schedules for unit turns and renovations

Safety & Hazards:

  • Follow all company, local, state, and federal safety rules
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling paints, solvents, adhesives, and working at heights
  • Be aware of hazards including ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, sharp tools, and exposure to chemicals

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, standing, reaching, and stretching (~40–50% of shift)
  • Bending, squatting, and kneeling (~35–45% of shift)
  • Occasional climbing of ladders or elevated surfaces (~5–10% of shift)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more regularly
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–5+ years of professional painting experience, ideally in multi-family residential properties
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record
  • Ability to complete projects on time and to high standards
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Focus on your craft,  painting is your primary responsibility, not a side task
  • Full-time, stable schedule with competitive pay
  • Work with a supportive team that values quality, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Opportunities to grow your career within our property management team

Benefits:
Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, health insurance, retirement options, and additional perks.

Part-time employees are eligible for sick leave and access to property amenities.
